Traditional photography involves a lens fixed to the camera body capturing the world moving around us, distilling it down to the length of the exposure. The moving image adds motion of the film behind the lens to record the world in it's natural flow. But what happens when the motion is added to the lens, or the camera body? For this experiment, we used the Horizon S3 camera, designed to take panoramic photos using a swing lens mechanism. Objects and spaces distort depending on their movement with or against, slower or faster that the camera and lens.

Created in collaboration with Gergely Harsányi for The Capa Contemporary Photo Center's CAPAZINE: Let's Roll! workshop, exploring the boundaries of photography and film-making, curated by Emese Mucsi with project supervision by Dr. Gábor Gelencsér of ELTE.
